Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit

hourglass ambient lighting editEver since I saw the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette on some instagram account, I knew I had to get my hands on it. It took my a few visits to different Sephoras in New York – but it was worth it! The palette might be smaller than I expected but it’s the most beautiful palette I have ever seen.

All the shades are beautiful and when I use the palette – which is pretty much every day – I use all the shades. I use a mix of the powders on my face both as powder and highlight, I use a mix of the blushers and then I use the bronzer. I think it gives such a beautiful glow on the skin and it is for sure one of my favorite products I have ever owned.

Winter Lip Shades

winter lip shades 1 winter lip shades 2Recently I have been really into lipsticks and when I went to New York I bought all the lipsticks I could find – not really, but really! Here I have five different shades that will be perfect for winter time – or at least I think they are perfect.

The shades are darkish and berry-like. And of course gorgeous. I love a dark lip for winter and even though there isn’t a red lipstick here, I know I will wear red for the holidays.

What’s your favorite lipstick shade for this time of year?

The Almost Black Polish

essie boy blazerBlack nail polish gives me a throwback to when I used to dye my hair black and listen to rock music – so you can probably guess that I’m not a huge fan of black nail polish. But this nail polish from Essie isn’t quite black even though it looks like it. It is a dark – very dark – navy blue, and it’s beautiful. Normally I’m not a huge fan of blue but this navy does it for me.

I had to hunt this nail polish down and it has been on my nails ever since I got my hands on it. I’m sure it will be pretty with a glittery polish on top for the holidays. Glitter makes everything pretty, am I right?

All About Mattes

tartelette palettetartelette

I have always been a sucker for matte eyeshadows. On an everyday basis I always wear mattes all over the eyelid and in the crease and if I’m feeling wild I will use a black matte eyeshadow as an eyeliner. So you can say that I’m all about that mattes, ’bout that mattes – no shimmer!

Don’t get me wrong – when it’s a special occasion like Christmas or New Years, I will use all the shimmer and glitter in the world. Because who doesn’t love shimmer?

My new favorite love is the Tartelette palette from Tarte which is just mattes – both cool and warm toned. There are both neutrals and a hint of purple shades. I’m absolutely in love with this palette and when I saw on Instagram that Tarte is bringing out a new Tartelette palette I knew I had to get it when it comes out.

Are you Team Matte or Team Shimmer?

Dear Santa, I actually have a lot on my wishlist this year. I do not need any of these things but I think they make great gifts. I’m wishing for something new this year. Books. I enjoy to read but I don’t do it enough and perhaps 2016 will be the year where I start. Beauty is of course on the list and I really hope to find the new Marc Jacobs perfume under my tree this year because it’s amazing.

The necklace is beyond beautiful and it has three diamonds in it – and you say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. My friend recommended the lense and now I cannot stop thinking about it. The shoes are so cool and the teapot just looks nice. So many wishes it’s almost too much. But I thought it might give you some inspiration to what you want to wish for this Christmas.

Happy 1st of December!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation Review

urban decay naked foundation reviewEveryone was talking about the concealer – so when I saw the Naked Skin Foundation in Sephora in New York, I had to pick it up and give it a go. Kinda forgot to pick up the concealer to go along with it, but I will be picking it up asap.

The foundation retails at $40 for 30 ml which is a pretty normal price for a foundation from Sephora. I have it in the shade 0.5 which is the lightest shade with pink undertones. Even though it is the lightest shade I somehow find that it is a tiny bit dark for me. #whitegirlproblems

It is very easy and fast to blend and it didn’t cling to any of my dry patches. The foundation has a runny texture and it makes the face looks even without it feeling heavy on the skin. I think it looks very beautiful on the skin – it’s not too dewy or too matte. It has a medium coverage and you can for sure tell that it’s on the skin, so it’s perfect for all the Christmas parties coming up.

All in all I really like this foundation. I just need to fake tan a bit, so it doesn’t look too dark on my skin. I will wear this for special occasions and perhaps a tiny bit on a bad skin day. But it feels weightless on the skin and it lasts for a long time on the skin without fading.

If you want to see the foundation being applied and hear my very first thoughts about it – then come back tomorrow at 4pm GTM.
