Are you a beginning makeup artist, or do you want to become a makeup artist? Then I’m going to tell you all about building a makeup kit for working freelance. Want to learn more?
Find out what you need
If you don’t have any products in your makeup kit yet, then it’s a good idea to look at what you need. The basis like foundation, powder, mascara, concealer, blush, eyeliner, and eyeshadow. Those are things that you cannot live without in your makeup kit. If you are on a tight budget, then it’s a good idea to make a list of the things that you absolutely need. That will make it easier for you to spend less money. Whenever you earn more money you can spend it on new things for your makeup kit.
Keep your makeup kit simple
It’s very important to only have the best products in your makeup kit. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but it’s a good idea to find great products that work well with different skintypes. Find a key foundation and is medium coverage and that works well with everyone. Make sure that you get both light and dark shades. You can always mix to find the right shade. If you need a light coverage foundation, you can mix it with a moisturizer. And if you need a full coverage foundation, you can mix it with a thick concealer. It’s all about keeping it simple and making sure that you have products that you can use for multiple things.
Hygiene is key – always!
It’s very important to always have everything clean and to really focus on hygiene. So it’s key to buy disposable wands for mascara, lipgloss and so on. And hand sanitizer is of course also key. It’s also a great idea to buy some skincare so if the model doesn’t have clean skin, you can do that too. Brush cleanser is also a good idea. Those small things are almost more important than makeup. So if you think that you just need to buy a bunch of makeup, then you have to think again. All the little things aren’t that expensive and you can find them online.
